I just found out i have poly cystic ovary syndrome, anyone have this or know more about it? I was just started on hormones and will have to start metformin. Doc said i need to put off weight but im really finding it hard this time around. I read that it can cause trouble losing weight, ugh excuses. Helpp!

has the doctor said anything about insulin resistance? I assume you have it since the doctor mentioned metformin.
Insulin resistance is very common in women with PCOS...I had insulin resistance without the PCOS, and the only way I can lose weight is if I reduce carbs. The first time I was diagnosed, I had to cut my carbs down to 50g net per day. I reversed it and was fine for quite a few years. Recently, I believe it has returned as it took me 3 months to lose 7lbs eating normal amounts of carbs. When I cut down to 100g per day, I lost almost 18lbs in 3 months!
ETA: IR is kind of a pre-diabetic state. If it is not controlled, it can eventually require insulin ( at least that was what MY doctor told me)0
