Once a week non-exercise day?

A family member of mine is also trying to get into shape, so we've been exercising together, but I can't get him to exercise on Friday. He says it's the one day of the week he gives himself off from exercise. (He's trying to get into a routine of exercising Monday-Thursday, then at least once on the weekend.)

I understand that he would want a non-exercise day after working a full-time work week with a long commute, but it just seems limiting to say 'no' each week, because it's harder to be flexible that way--say you skipped Thursday for some reason, wouldn't you want to consider making it up Friday?

Basically I want to know if anyone else has a certain day of the week that they specifically designate as their "veg day," or their day off from exercising.

Yep. Sundays for me. Family is my priority that day.

Saturdays. There have been a few times where I've used Saturday as my make-up, but it's rare.

I usually let myself relax on Sundays. Just so I can have a little break and not get bored of working out. So, I try to work out 5-6 days a week depending.

I don't exercise on weekends. I go pretty hard during the week though. If I had the chance I would exercise one day on the weekend, but I think you need at least one day to rest.

I take Friday off myself, once I leave work that day I really just feel like chilling, playing a video game or something else relaxing. Saturday and Sunday are my most relaxed eating days (I set a goal of body weight in protein grams a day and Sat/Sun are 2700 calorie limit days) - the weekdays are a lot more strict but I find it easier because I spend a lot of my waking hours at work during the week.
