I have NEVER been extremely over weight BUT weight has always been an issue. When I was younger I had an eating disorder and I have NEVER learned how to eat right. I gained a lot of weight with each of my kids and lost all but 10 pounds of it right after birth. I ended up with 20 pounds to lose and tried many different things but nothing seemed to work. Then 2 years ago I ended up having major knee surgery and because of my immobility I got depressed and gave up. Now I find myself 30 pounds heavier than I would like to be. Sometimes I think about how easy it would be to go back to old habits but then I think of my boys.....I just keep reminding myself that slow and steady wins the race (even the diet race)
