When too much of certain nutrient is really too much?

I am new here, this is just my 3rd day and while planing my daily diet plan I found out that while I don't have problem with staying whithin the caloric limit, I tend to go overboard with certain nutrients.

My daily goals are:

calories 1,200
carbs 165
fat 40
proteins 45
fiber 14
trans fat 0

It is pretty hard to get the exact numers here so i believe that being 2-5 over/under in something ok. Than while planing todays meal (after eating beakfast so it cannot be changed) I realized that while I will be just under daily allowance with everything else, I am going 6 over with fiber (good thing as far as I am concerned so no prob) and masive 21 overboard with proteins. I can't cut them out from the food I plan to eat today (again I already had breakfast so I can't cut here) or I will have virtualy nothing to eat.

So my question is, how strict are you guys with those things and how much of too much in your opinion is really too much?

Thanks in advance!

Eat more protein and less carbs it will make you feel fuller for longer and retain muscle mass while on a calorie deficit.

So you believe that if I eat lets say 20 carbs less and 5 fats less going overboard with proteins should be fine?

Honey, protein is a good thing and the limits MFP gives are stupidly low! Especially when you are exercising as well. I eat usually between 120-160 grams of protein per day. I do about an hour cardio only 2 days a week, then 30 minutes cardio with heavy weight training 3 days a week. The protein is needed to repair and build those rock hard muscles. :) Find out what your lean body mass is and eat that. For me, its 117 but I usually eat more because I lift very heavy at the gym. No worries, its a good thing you are going over in fiber and protein. Keeps you full as well. :)

The protein limit is anyway a minimum that should be reached, not a maximum that you can not go over :) You have to go over by LOOOADS for it to be unhealthy for you (unless you have some sort of medical condition of course, but that you know better than us ;) ).

I wouldn't drop the fat any lower but you can afford to drop carbs by a third!
