Ups and downs in hours

Hi there,

there is something strange going on with my weight. During the week I have to get up around 8 a.m. so I weight myself around this time. At the weekend I stay longer in bed an I weight myself later around 12 p.m. I always weight less when I weight myself later in the morning - sometimes the difference is about two pounds.

I also made a test at the weekend, where I weighted myself once around 9 a.m and once again at 12 p.m. The difference was one pound and I just stayed in bed the time in between the two weight checks.

So - can someone tell me why I weight less when I stay longer in bed? It always frustrates me, that I weight one pound (or more) during the weekdays just because I weight myself early in the morning. Which weight is the real one?

Best to all of you

So no one has the same problem? I seem to be a medical wonder. ;-)

The same reason your weight falls overnight; you are waiting longer to re-hydrate yourself and to eat.

But is it really realistic that I sweat (or where else does the water goes?) one liter in two hours just stying in bed and sleep?

Yup. Weight can fluctuate so much throughout the day from a number of factors. S'all good.

Do you drink water throughout the night? My guess is that you are slightly less hydrated after a long night of sleep if you don't drink throughout the night.

It is totaly normal for the weight to fluctuate throughout the day as it does, in my case it is 4-5 pounds. Your real weight is the one first thing in the morning after using the bathroom.

First, weigh yourself once a week, at the same time, to get a true picture of your weight.

A litre of water weighs 2.2 lbs, so it isn't that hard to imagine a fluctuation of a pound just from sleeping. You don't just sweat - you release water vapour as you breath as well.

Stick to the once a week weigh in and ignore the scale the rest of the week.

:flowerforyou: I also weigh myself in the mornings when I get up before I eat or drink anything.. It's always lower in the morning that's the best time to weigh.. "
You should always weigh at the same time I was told because your weigh will very a pond or two"....( As the little man on the WII Plus says. )
I don't worry about the weight during the week but mainly on Fri. my weigh in day. Weighing in during the week is just to keep an eye if I have gained or not after a hard day before..:drinker:
