Turkey bacon

I was buying a Butterball turkey bacon and I would cook it in the micro. It never came out right in the pan and I have never found any brand that was simple to cook.
Now I am using an uncured, organic, nitrate free brand from trader joes for obvious health reasons.
The directions say 2-3 minutes on each side in the pan. What the heck am I doing wrong? it took me a little over 20 minutes to get it crispy. Or is it not supposed to be crispy?
Even in the micro, it takes way longer than the 2 minutes on the directions.
When I see pictures in recipe books, the turkey bacon looks crisp and perfect. So I'm guessing that its not supposed to be flimsy and raw looking the way it is when I go according to the packeage directions.
I'm a good cook, I swear! Vegetarian meals are my specialty, when it comes to meat I'm kind of special ed.
How do you cook yours and how does it turn out for you?

Girl I LOVE the butterball turkey bacon! and you are right it never gets crispy in the pan...weird huh? I don't know much about organic foods, or why it wouldn't get crispy...look on your package and see if there is a customer service number you can call. A lot of times if you call they will even send you coupons for free stuff. LOL I love to complain when a product isn't what it says it is even when I follow the instructions to perfection! Wish I had more advice for you.0

No real answer, after I cooked turkey bacon for my family we decided it tasted like beggin strips for dogs smells......in other words we hated it. We tried it twice cooking it two ways and it seems the turkey bacon gets chewy vs. crispy.
As far as cooking bacon in general, I cook bacon in the oven, it takes a little longer but it comes out just right. I put a cookie cooling rack on top of a cookie sheet pan and cook the bacon on the rack so any fat ends up in the pan. You could do similar with turkey, but since the fat content is different in turkey you could probably skip the rack so that the bacon cooks in it's own juice, however, the rack would guarantee crispiness!
Keep in mind that most photos of food are made up of fake foods, they photograph better and artists can make that turkey bacon look mouth watering.

I use the Louis Rich brand and bake it on a cookie sheet @ 400 and set the timer 10 min, then usually go another 5-7 minutes and it great0

Maybe it doesn't get as crispy as regular bacon because it doesn't have as much fat?? But I agree, it doesn't get crispy, but I like mine chewy0
