I'm going to whine for second...

I think its so awesome to hear about everyone that has had amazing results and has truly transformed themselves and their lives. It's amazing and inspiring.

But there is always that voice in my head asking "What the hell am I doing wrong here?"

I'm losing so slowly. So. Very. Slowly. And with weight fluctuations of up to 3 lbs difference day to day sometimes it's like I haven't lost anything. I am losing inches, which is great.... but I really want to hit that golden number on the scale.

Pity Party done. Going to go do my 8th day of Level 2 for 30 Day Shred. Sorry for the pointless venting.

Welcome!

I understand where you're coming from, I started only a month or 2 later than you, and look at the rate I'm going, not to mention my weight goes up and down every week as well. So trust me, I'm in the same boat, and agree it's frustrating, you're not the only one

    You aren't the only one - I started mid March. :( I haven't lost in a month!!
  • 3 lbs could be a trip to the bathroom....so it's kind of hard to take that kind of fluctuation too seriously. And the slow weight loss, I suppose if it came off too quickly it would probably come back on just as fast. You're still doing ! Kepp it up!

If you're losing inches, then why are you complaining about the scale? Losing weight was about losing inches to begin with. Everyone's weight fluctuates day by day and during the day. Stop weighing yourself everyday. Weigh yourself, at max, once a week...at the same time, on the same day. Measure yourself every two weeks or less to get more accurate results. It will make you less batty about this whole process.

I am losing more slowly now too, but the scale is going down.

I have never done the 30 day shred myself, but many of my friends have. They found that while doing the shred, they did not actually lose weight, or just a little. The shred did more toning, thus changed their shape. Are you able to throw in some cardio extra cardio in there as well? It might help.

Best of luck! Don't give up!

See, that's the thing. Logically I know that inches are more important, but I'm looking forward to lbs lost. Can't help it. It's engrained in me. I want a healthy BMI. I usually only weigh myself once a week and measure less often than that. I know it's coming off and that I'm replacing it with muscle... which is awesome. Damned if I don't still want to see a lower number on the scale though, lol.

I've heard that about the Shred as well. The super slow loss was going on before I started it though. I do want to add more cardio soon... when the weather is less steamy here.

Buy a caliper and track body fat %. Weight is not fat -- it's bone, water, muscle, air, food, nerves, organs.... and fat. But with a caliper you know you're pinching blubber :-)
