I am lying in bed filling out mfp as I have flu or something not good. I am thinking with a fever I should surely be burning more calories than normal? Anyone have any data?

If you don't normally lie about in bed, then you are burning less calories.
If a fever burns more calories than normal body temperature, then it probably nets out with the lack of motion.

    Feel better soon. :flowerforyou:

    it would appear you will:

"...sickness, fever and infections increase your metabolism by about seven percent for each degree the body temperature rises above 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit..."

hope you feel better soon, & you drop an lb or 2 in the meantime!

Let the fever rage I say so I can loose more weight in that case :explode:
Starting to feel a bit better now though.
Perhaps I could prolong the illness by walking outside in the cold and rain (UK - normal weather).
  • I spent all last night with a fever and ended up losing quite a lot more than I would normally have. Now that I'm feeling a bit better, we'll see if I "even out" for tomorrow.

Wow found this old post, heating my body by 3 degrees has to be burning more calories
