2nd day...calories!

I started yesterday because of a friend's suggestion. I'm looking to lose about 15 pounds, as I was just told I am pre-diabetic. I'm trying to be conscious of my carb count.

My big problem is...if I can't eat what I want, I tend to just not eat. Yesterday, I managed 700 calories. If i weren't watching carbs closely, it would be easier to find healthy foods to eat, but even low fat yogurt is off my radar. Curious if anyone has any suggestions or perhaps low carb recipes to share?

To be honest if you can't meet your calorie goal without carbs I would start eating them. Netting 700 calories is going to do way more harm than eating carbs ever will!

Thanks. Going to up my carbs (within reason, of course, still being conscious that I can't go crazy!) I was trying to stay around the 50g carb area, but have upped it to 100 the last two days. Have been within 100 calories of my "goal" now.

Not sure if I can help since I don't have any health issues that make me count carbs. But I think if you eat more carbs it will be fine, but just stick to the high fiber, low glycemic foods. Like an apple has carbs and sugar, but it is full of water, nutrients, and fiber which is also important. It would be preferable to eating the same amount of carbs but coming from a highly processed food. Maybe do some reading on the glycemic index. This article seemed like a good place to start.

    I hope I was helpful.
