New to Weight-loss

Hey guys! So I've never really tried weight-loss before since to me it has never really become a problem. But when I got an ankle injury back in october, I had to sit out in my gym classes for months, I never really got any exercise. Now it's august nearly 10 months later. I haven't been able to get myself back into a fitness routine. I've become lazy.

And now going into grade 12, we no longer have an in-class gym. All our work out hours need to be done on our own time, this is the part that worries me. I'd exercise in school all the time because we'd have an actual class for it, but now.. exercising on my own time makes me doubt how much I am actually motivated to work out. There is the odd day were I will work out, but it's not happening often enough, so now that I've put on weight from lack of physical activity, I want to change

I was wondering if you lovely people could give me tips on where to begin, work outs you found successful, how you kept yourself motivated that kind of thing.. and as well, how to not feel self conscience when working out in public ex. running outside
