Can anyone tell me what I "should" weigh?

Hi,

I'm 29yrs 5ft 9 and weigh 138lbs, i've done a quick search and apparently i'm within my ideal weight range? But after a c-sec with my daughter i'm trying to get down to what I was before I had her which was 130lbs.

Am I doing the wrong thing in trying to lose the extra weight I have left? I still feel big and definitely still need to tone up my mummy tummy but now worried I may be doing the wrong thing?

Any advice appreciated

C xx

The amount you should weigh is very subjective because there are a lot of other factors other than the number on the scale that would make you healthy or unhealthy. If you feel like you would be healthier without those extra pounds you should get rid of them, but do it by eating healthy and working out, you might end up the same weight if you put on more muscle mass and get leaner.

It looks like you are already in the general ballpark of what you should weigh, so there is no chart or formula that you can use to set a target. From a health standpoint, your weight is fine.

The best thing you can do is use the mirror to decide when you are where you want to be. I would start with a very small deficit - maybe 200-250 calories per day - and start doing strength training. You will probably see some good results in a month or so.

You may need to concentrate more on fitness and body fat percent at this point rather than worrying about what the scale says. If you can, visit a personal trainer for a body fat measurement and some advice on strength training
