Sporadic workouts - help or harm?

So I don't really have a "schedule" when it comes to my working out. I pretty much do what I feel. I spend my lunch hour at work looking up different circuits and weight training exercises I want to try, but there's really no set schedule. There's no "leg day/shoulders/chest" etc., what I do pretty much depends on the time I have after work. I know something is better than nothing, but could this inconsistency be detrimental?

i'm not an expert, but imo, i'd say not detrimental per say - but inefficient. While it's good to keep your body guessing, i think depending upon how inconsistant you are you may never be building on anything.

that being said, if you're CONSISTANTLY going every day at "some" time, changing up the amt of time & the workout style - i'd say that kind of inconsistancy is good - b/c it keeps your body guessing.

i'm a "tracker" tho - i have to track everything & see the results / progress to stay motivated, so although i break up my workouts b/t am / pm - i pretty much do the same thing every afternoon & always some form of cardio every am...

Yeah that's pretty much what I'm doing. I go everyday after work for about an hour, but what I do in that hour has no consistency except that I do at least 30 min of cardio always. What I do after that if anything depends on how I feel or how much time I have.
