How important is bowel regularity to weight loss?

I only go once every four days! AND even then it is a very small amount compared to my food intake. I drink lots of water and exercise at least 30 minutes a day.
I have always been irregular, but at least my bowels released some quantity before. My calorie intake has been cut in about half, and the food I eat is much more balanced for health now, but it seems like it stays in there forever and when it comes out it is only a twentieth the size of what I put in.
Sometimes I wonder if my system is extra effiicient and holds onto my food to drag as much fat and nurtients from it as possible.
Has anyone else experienced this?:blushing:
