LOVE Milk Seeking Alternative

I am a huge milk fat; the fattier the better. I have at least 2 cups at night before bed (helps satisfy late night hunger). I am partial to the 1% and 2%s and sometimes even skim but don't like the taste of skim. I've been wanting to try Almond Milk yet scared. I am afraid I won't like the taste/texture, ect. Anyone recommend a good brand to try? What's it taste like?

I've never tried almond milk, but I've had soymilk, and it's good, but very sweet, esp. the vanilla-flavored varieties. It's a LOT more expensive than regular milk though.
If you're not opposed to more protein in your day, skim milk + vanilla protein powder has a nice rich feel that you might like, too.0 -
You're scared? Buy it and take a sip. If you don't like it, throw it out.0

almond milk is kinda watery.0

Almond milk is great. Also flax milk is excellent... it's a little fattier than almond, with a smoother texture.0

I LOVE the Silk Almond milk...its a little "thicker" than whole milk as far as consistency. I like the Vanilla flavored (tastes like a milkshake) but the plain is okay.0

Welll, I HATE milk.. and I'm lactose intolerant.. lol
I prefer Vanilla Almond Milk... it tasted 100000x better than regular milk in cereal... it tasted the BEST in Special K Fruit and Yogurt.. seriously to die!
I like Coconut Milk, too.
I'd stay away from Soy milk, it is okay in moderation but it has a lot of estrogen in it and is bad for you if you have it too much.
I usually switch up between all three, but I always have the Almond milk vanilla on hand... i get the Silk brand... Almond Breeze is good too. 8th continent brand is the cheapest, and I think it still tastes really good.0 -
We're almond milk users. Ever since my daughter was diagnosed with a milk allergy we've been using milk alternatives. We prefer almond to soy. If you want to drink it straight up, a vanilla flavored one would probably be best to try. You can get it sweetened or unsweetened. The sweetened IMO is too sweet. We use the original unsweetened for baking and cooking, and I add it to my coffee. My daughter will drink any of them, but I find that the original unsweetened takes some getting used to if you just drink it.
Oh, and as for brands, we usually buy Silk. We also will buy Almond Breeze if it's on sale and cheaper. I can't really tell a difference between those two brands.0 -
I drink coconut milk. (can't have intolerant to dairy, soy and almonds)
But if you like cows milk, honestly, just drink it.
all the alternatives are nice, but do not taste like cows milk. You might like them as another drink, but they don't taste like actual milk. I have tasted cows milk, goats milk, coconut milk, almond milk, soy milk, rice milk, and hemp milk.
Soy is the closest texture wise IMO
I really like rice milk, but coconut milk is less calories and less carbs so I tend to use that. (I only use it for shakes, cooking, and coffee)0 -
I make chocolate milk all the time with half unsweentened vanilla almond milk and half 1% or skim milk. I prefer almond to soy milk for sure.0

I love coconut milk! Its really creamy.0

Does Coconut milk taste like coconut because I don't like the taste of coconut; just the smell of it..like in sunscreen...and car freshners. LOL
I think I'll try the vanilla unsweetened. At least I can say I tried it! On my Bucket List! ha0 -
I don't find that it really tastes like coconut actually0

Coconut milk does not taste like coconut. It has a creamy like texture. It taste a little like watered down milk at first. I get the plain flavor. If you are a milk lover it takes a while to adjust. I love it, but I have never been a fan of milk. My niece is two and my sister used my coconut milk in her cereal because she was out of regular milk, and she didn't even notice. It taste good and the texture is similar. I love that there is no after taste. Good luck!0

If you love regular milk then I'm not sure how you'd feel about almond milk.. it is a lot thinner with a different flavor. However, I hate dairy milk and LOVE almond milk. I'd suggest buying some and just trying it out. I drink the unsweetened vanilla.0
