Spliting up long run throughout the day???

I have recently started to run again, and I was wondering if it is ok to split up your run throughout the day?

I do a total of 6 miles a day, 2 miles at a time at 6.5 mph. I will usually run in the morning, an hour after lunch, and then again just before dinner...

I am not necessarily looking for endurance, but more of just the calorie burn and to just stay healthy :)

Does anyone else do this as well?

    Running twice a day is the best way to build endurance even if that's not your goal. I try to run twice a day five or six days a week. On the seventh day I rest and only run once.
