Kickin the habit :)

So we can start with my name... I'm Amanda I've been fairly overweight my entire life. However, that hasn't affected my personal relationships a whole lot. I'm still the social butterfly that I was when I was a young child. Back in high school, I was very active. I loved the outdoors and rode dirtbikes all the time. It helped to keep me in shape, but I was never down to where I wanted to be. Eventually I ended up getting hurt on the bike & stopped caring about my diet. This was roughly 4 - 5 yeas ago.
Now I'm finally at a place in my life where I feel I have the support and means to get into shape. Working only 3 days a week definitely gives me an advantage. As a bartender, I'm still running around at work, but we have times when we're completely dead, and it's just not enough. Because I work late, I have a tendency to eat right before going to bed when I get home... I've always had that habit. With this tracking site, I should have an easier time cutting out the junk food & night eating. Giving myself one day a week to just "veg out" definitely helps my goal in the long run as well.
My long-term goal is a whopping 70 lbs. Seems impossible looking at it now, but I know that if I keep at it & keep positive, I will achieve my goal. Hopefully these message boards will help give me the extra support that I don't always get at home. My boyfriend loves me the way I am & insists that I don't change. Well, I'm about to show him that what he says doesn't always go. I'm going to kick my butt into shape & show him the person that I can be.
