Anyone else with arrythmias?

So I have an abnormally fast heart rate and was just taken off my meds to regulate it yesterday. I went to the gym today and was told not to let my heart rate go above 160/170.. I barely broke out a sweat. I felt stupid even being at the gym, I worked out way easier than normal and my HR averaged 145-150. Does anyone else have a heart arrythmia and still managing to lose weight by working out? I'm afraid it will make me stop losing weight

Your safety and medical treatment are the most important things now. You can always compensate for the lowered intensity by working out longer.0 -
^That.
Are you medically cleared to do any strength training? I find that my heart rate generally stays lower during strength training than it does during cardiovascular exercise, and if you can do strength training, that can definitely help to rev up your metabolism and get you burning more calories.0
