So I have started training for a 5k this week. Looking for some cheap but decent running shoes, and have no clue on where to start. Any advice on brand, price, type of shoe... Thank you in advance for the advice!

If there is a DSV or Shoe Pavillion near you that is where I get my Saucony running shoes that I love. Your brand will depend on your foot and running style though, but prices are always good at those stores.
  • Thank you! :)
  • I went to a running store and got mine. I swear by it. I would rather spend a bit of money and be comfortable than try to save and be sore.

    /my 2 cents.

Go to a specialty running store and get fitted. They will analyze your gait and make recommendations to you. Brand does not matter. If they carry it, they are good. When they bring out choices that match the way your run, try them on and get the pair that feels the most comfortable. Wearing the right shoes can prevent training injury. This won't be cheap, but aren't you and your feet, ankles, knees, legs and hips worth it?
