Need some strength training and muscle building

I am currently doing lots of Zumba (cardio) and walking but I'd like to build muscle and strength building without spending too much money. I noticed my legs have built some muscle through Zumba but I'd like to see more muscle in my arms and abs, any suggestions?!?

  • This is for at home? There are 100's of DVD's available or routines on Youtube - needing or not needing additional equipment..

If I had to buy only one piece of equipment it would be a kettle bell!

Jillian Michael's No More Trouble Zones dvd! You just need weigths, start with 3lb and 5lbs and work your way up :)
I also love her 30 day shred, combines strength and cardio :)

30 day shred for sure! It's intense but only 20 minutes long!

itt, mostly cardio suggested as strength training.

Why screw around with pink 3-4lb dumbbells when you could be lifting 100+lbs in a month or less?

    Starting STrength
    Stronglifts
    New rules for women

For me this would be a pullup bar.

You have to balance pushing with pulling.

Why spend money on weights at all?

If single leg squats, one arm pushups, handstand presses, and lever pullups aren't too easy for you, weights are totally unnecessary. Easier, yes, there isn't much to learn with weights, but not necessary.
