Having to push myself.

Getting a case of the lazies. No energy to do anything. I have been doing 90 min on the treadmill. 45 min at a time playing with the settings (hills and glute busters and just inclines) I pop in a dvd and walk. Only had the energy to do 45 min yesterday. This morning I really had to force myself to do my exercises with my 7lb kettle bell. I only do 2 sets of 15. It seems to be getting harder not easier. I am eating all my calories and some of my "earned from exercising" calories. I feel like I am going backwards instead of forwards. Any help will be greatly appreciated.:ohwell:

Change your routine. Listen to an mp3 player and put on some great music with a good beat. I find that if I mix it up, I am more motivated and less tired. It's doing the same thing over and over again that get's boring and boring makes me lazy! I also play a game with myself. I don't look at the clock when I'm on the treadmill and instead, I tell myself "at the end of this song, I'll go up another .2 mph or set my incline up a little more." Then I see how far I can go instead of how long I go. Keep on trying!!

My work schedule is erratic and crazy. I never get the same day twice in a row. This really messes up how and when I work out. But I try to make it a point to do something everyday. Even if it's just a one mile walk to do an errand instead of driving or taking a bus. As long as you are burning calories and eating within your range you are doing something. And you really only need to work out 4 days instead of all 7.

I dont have a MP3 player that is why I pop in a dvd. Right now I am watching "Gilmore Girls" 45 min with out the commercials. I keep the monitor covered. I only do this 5 days a week and on the 6th day I try to do something different (walk outside).

firstly, make sure you are having at least 1 rest day per week.

secondly, you dont have to do hours at the gym to get results... its quality not quantity. add some strength training/circuit training to your routine, muscle burns more calories than fat!

thirdly, if you are doing a lot of exercsie you need to eat your exercise calories.

and lastly, you might want to look at the quality of what you're eating. i had a quick look at your diary and there was one day that u ate mcdonalds and burger king all day...

Rather than walking for 45 minutes......start doing intervals. I don't know what your normal walking speed is but let's say it's 3 mph. Instead of walking at that speed continually (with ups and downs), try running at 5 mph for 2 minutes, walking for 2 minutes, run for 2 minutes, rinse and repeat. Instead of trying to go for 90 minutes, do that for 45 minutes.

I think a lot of people feel that they can't run very far so they don't try. Intervals are a great way to work your way up to being a better runner. When I started on MFP earlier this year, I could run about 8 mph for 2 minutes before I felt like I needed to stop. At 7 mph, I could go about 5 minutes. Now, when I do intervals, I run closer to 10 mph and I just ran 3 miles without stopping at 7 mph.

Mix it up and start pushing your body in different ways.

make sure you take a day off occasionally. I was only able to work out 5 days a week for two weeks straight before things started getting harder. When I cut back to 3 days it got much easier, and eventually I was able to go back up to 4 days a week.

you should never have a specific "routine" your body adapts and will not change. Mix things up!

I am no runner (although I have a little voice in my head that keeps telling me that I want to be) I am 5ft so my little short legs cant go very fast to start with. While I am on the tread mill I am always adjusting the incline and the speed. I know the Mcd's runs arent the best for me and I am trying to make better choices. I know that sleep plays a big part and that is kinda crazy right now. I get up at 3am for work and dont go to bed till 9:30 or 10 most nights.

And yet, you keep doing it. Everybody goes through times of boredom and need to change things a bit. You are experiencing a place where a lot of people just give in and give up. You're not. Be proud of that and keep going!
  • Is there something stopping you from geting outside and getting fresh air? The treadmill drives me crazy!! Doesn't matter how tall you are if you want to be a runner start running - your secret is out....

When I get bored I go to the internet -- find music playlists, video workout on youtube, go to magazine sites (like self.com) that have workouts posted .... so that I get to do something new which ends up being a challenge and my brain has to actual focus rather than spacing out watching a tv show ( which i think makes the workout feel like it takes forever!!). i also take breaks from cardio and will just to weights/strength every couple of days so that i don't get so wiped out and tired.

try taking some good quality vitamins!!! its near impossible to get all the right vitamins and minerals on 1200* calories. mfp has the settings way lower on everything fiber, calcium etc. also check hydration-are you getting enough water.also youve been really pushing it-which is great but maybe shoot lower.

i know im sort of lazy compared to everyone on here. 250 cal burn a day.but i have more of a problem if i set my heights too high then dont accomplish i end up feeling bad about myself and failing,

    lets get together next week!

I looked at your food diary and personally think you are 1) eating the wrong foods, I see lots of bbq and cheeses. Get more protein in you, along with more fruits and veggies. Your body needs it. 2) how often are you eating? it seems to me you are picking like a bird. Make those snacks meaningful so they hold you over to the next meal. Get water in your body!!!. Best of luck to you.
