Hey! I've been in-line skating lately and I've been cheeking calories I've burnt and it always showed me more than +1000 (I rollerblade for like 2-3 hours without stopping). Is this the real amount? I'm pretty confused I don't know how much I must eat to keep my muscles and to burn fat.
An answer would help me a lot Thank you!

Ok. So this is what I'm doing. I was also confused on the "eating back your calories" topic, because I want to lose weight, so If I burn calories why would I wanna eat them back, right?
So my BMR right now is 1,495 calories and my daily caloric intake (DCI) to maintain is 1,794, because I'm very short (4'11''). I have a very sedentary lifestyle; I spend most of my day sitting down. So, most models tell you to cut back on calories to create a deficit of 1,000, but if I cut back 1,000 calories from my diet, I end up with 794 calories to eat a day, which is way too low. So I eat 1200 calories a day, and then I have to burn an additional 400 to keep the 1,000 calorie deficit. I'm still getting a good nutrition, and I feel great. If, like you, if burned 1,000 doing skates, then of those I only eat 600 calories to keep my deficit at 1,000 and not overdo the stress on my body.
But these are my numbers. For taller people, they usually can substract the whole 1000 calories from their DCI and are still above their 1200 recommended inake. Those people, should eat back their workout calories (or at least some of them) so they don't stress their bodies over the 1000 calorie deficit.
I don't know if I explained myself properly here. I'm not a scientist or a doctor, but this is what I'm doing right now. I am not really paying any attention to the "net calories" that MFP says. Those are not real for me.
Hope you reach your goals!!! Take care!0 -
Yary kinda has the right idea....kinda.
Heres a n easier way of doing things so you wont have to worry about eating back cals and you lose weight and get the nutrients you need...
