Week old newbie here--and need help navigating the site

Still a newbie!

I want to keep a daily log of food and exercise---but when I do --on my page--I do not notice that it registers on the main feed where you can see everyone's progress?

Also the Add-food page confuses me. How and where do you add foods? For example, when I type in tilapia--it does not "stay'
Is this feature---a personal database of key foods one eats? I was excited to see Breakfast Lunch Dinner--calories ---etc
but I have no idea how to log in --foods--and in the categories----
is this the food diary?

    you have to click the add portion button after you selected the serving size. Also make sure in your preferences you have your diary viewable by others, so anyone can help, but do not take everyone's advice because we are not experts in everything unless certified.. But everyone has some experience on here with weight loss. Also click complete entry for the day so people can see what you have eaten/workout today
