Protein Powder & Weight Loss HELP!

Hey guys I need some help! Over the past year I started off at 218lbs and lost 70lbs with diet, exercise and the help of MFP! I was stuck at 145lbs back in March, I took a couple months off and gained 5 pounds.. So for the past month I've changed back to a healthy diet and started my 3rd term of The 30 day shred..My calorie intake is set to 1200 and i ultimately want to lose 20-25 pounds. Anyway to the point, I was wondering if I add a protein powder, like Isopure to my diet, will help me lose some stubborn pounds? Thank you for reading & all your help! :flowerforyou:

  • Probably not just by itself but certainly when combined with balanced nutrition it can help. Shoot for a macro nutrient level of 40% carbs/40% protein/20% fat or 40%/30%/30%. Incorporate a bit of extra strength training into your program to build lean muscle and it will help shred the fat lbs.

If you're eating at a caloric deficit and burning more calories than you consume , that should be a recipe for success.

Whatever you've done to lose those 69lbs it has obviously worked. Don't give up and remember that it truly is a LIFE STYLE change.

As far as protein powder is concerned , it's not a miracle supplement. If it fits your macro nutrients then you should be set. I personally increasing my protein % allows me to remain full longer.

P.S. I'm down 60 lbs and currently hovering around 170-175 for the past 4 months but have dropped 2 inches in my waist.
