Hello mfpals,

I thought we could start a list of things we have learned from each other and ways in which we have been supported.

Here are just a few of the many I am thankful for:

Kind words of support
A sense of being in this together
Great websites that support our cause
Friends who share their experiences
Debates that bring the truth to light
Wonderful Recipes

There are so many more. I am thankful for all that I have learned from each of you and I know this information will carry me through the rest of my life.

What has helped you on your journey?

Connie Lynn

I have learned that I need to listen to others, and that people listen to me in turn, and that if I'm going to say something that may change someone's ideas and/or practices, I should back it up with facts!
People on here are important to me, and I want to make sure that everyone receives the best information I can find.

Supportive people who are willing to share their experience. My own capacity to be supportive of others in the quest to become more healthy.

MY WILLINGNESS TO LISTEN AND LEARN FROM OTHERS. That is definitely not something that comes easily to me.

It takes time. Lots of time to lose weight.

If I'm held accountable to my "pals", I am more likely to follow through.

If you want to lift yourself up, lift up someone else.

I truly believe this with all my heart! While I'm not one that posts my upsets and frustrations, I feel so much better helping others with theirs. I also see the world sometimes, as filled with heartless, uncaring people. I've learned, while being a part of this community, that that no longer holds true.

I've learned that when I fall down, one of my "pals" will be there to help me up!

    Thanks Pals!!!

I've learned that it takes all types to accomplish a sense of community! That when we support eachother, we make a difference in each others lives! That it brightens my day when I brighten someone else's! That we can all do this with a little help from our "pals"!!!!

    I've learned:
    how to post!!
I get strength from your encouragement
I get hope from your success
I read this somewhere (loosely paraphrased but gist is)
a year from now I will wish I started today
    Have a great day!

I've learned that I am only a click away from the strenght I need. I have also learned that I am not alone. Many other lovely people share the same ups and downs on this journey. I have learned not to give up so easy...

    I have learned:

The 20 minutes it takes to feel full after eating is easily covered by meeting new people on the site and looking through all of the interesting posts.

I have begun to learn how to cook because people on this site have amazing recipes

I like to give my two cents worth

    How to lean on others!

How you can start to truly care about people that you've never actually met. I find since starting here, I smile more at strangers. Because, who knows it could be someone from here.

How to celebrate the victory of others.

    How cool we all are.:flowerforyou:

    I love that!!

I have learned that I can come out of the safety of shell and share with others. I don't have to do it on my own and that friends can be found. I am learning more all the time but for me letting others in is a huge step.

And of course all the wonderful ideas.

I have learned that there is so much still to learn and that there are people out there who have the knowledge to teach me.

I also learned that everyone has their own opinion and that first and foremost I should listen to my body and do what works for me. Just b/c it worked for someone else...does not mean that it will work for me.

I have learned that there are so many people in the same situation as me. Just today my husband wanted to go out to eat and I actually thought about this site and ordered baked fish with not fancy stuffing or butter. I am very happy to that.

Thanks everyone for the support I need.
