Sick of doctors offices! (rant)

I am starting to despise Drs offices! I made my appt (new patient) and was mailed paperwork I had to have it filled out prior to the appt (or your appt might be rescheduled if all paperwork is not complete). Before my appointment they called and got all the same information over the phone. I was told I had to be there 15 minutes BEFORE my appt (why in the hell?? you already have everything you need).
I am a good little patient, I get there 15 minutes early. I sat in that freaking waiting room to be seen for an hour and 15 minutes! Really, did I really have to come in early?? As if you EVER take anybody on time??? Thanks for making me get here early so I could wait longer!
I just get a call from same dr office.... we are sorry but we have to reschedule your Aug 29th appointment. He is booked into November for that office. Can you come to the other office? Thinking I would be seen sooner, sure I will drive the extra 45+ minutes to go to the other office. Ok, he can see you October 30th... seriously??? She said, "sorry he is all booked up and that is the soonest he can see you." Uh yeah I get that but consindering I ALREADY HAD AN APPOINTMENT YOU HAD TO RESCHEDULE maybe you can work something else out. In an exasperated voice with a big *sigh* please hold ma'am. Ok does Sept 20th work for you? Yeah uh.. not really but do I really have a choice?? Oh and let me guess... I have to be there 15 minutes early again??

    Normally I hate rant posts, because they're normally just a bunch of whining, but I think you just summed up everyone's feelings about the doc's offices. This very reason is why I only go to the docter if I'm sick. Screw physicals.

    Is it possible to find a different doctor? If this is the way the office is treating a NEW patient, I'd hate to see how they treat their existing ones.

    You should try waiting in a Pediatric Specialist office!!! They are the pits!! I had wait times in excess of 2 hours before.

    Oh and getting a 1st time new pateint appointment, they can be 6 months out!!

    Sorry, that's my rant. LOL

    I only go for well checks once a year and that's it. Other than that, it's when I'm sick.

    Wait times are ridiculous. I think it comes from DRs trying to squeeze every mintute of the day to see patients to make the most money.

    I also found it funny that after I sounded annoyed she said, "well, are you having any problems?" UH yeah that is why I am seeing a Neurologist!

    This totally! They triple book so if an appt doesn't show up they have two other appts at the same time.

    I have dealt with amny specialst for my son, to get in sooner ask them to put you on the "cancellation list". YOu will have to be willing to drop everything to go the next day but, you will get in sooner.

    At one time I was juggling (for our son) a pediatrician, early interventino for 2 services, a home health nurse, 6 specialist and 3 children's hospitals in 2 states.

    As well as fighting the insurance company to cover things that would keep my son alive.

    BTDT got the T shirt, ti's not fun.
