Nike Uses Fat Kid to Sell Shoes
http://jezebel.com/5932248/nike-uses-fat-kid-to-sell-shoes-nation-rejoices
I'm sure most everyone has caught at least one of the new Nike commercials.
(If not, you can watch it there)
The one with the overweight boy running in particular, I actually liked.
I personally think this article is way off.
Tell me what you think.

I love the ad. Hopefully it will inspire some.
As for the article, what a douche.
1. The Nike corp put his fat body on display to sell shoes?
The kid was not forced to do anything. I'm sure he was paid for the commercial...
2. I do feel better about myself when I work hard for it. Typical person talking about how most people don't work hard and are just naturally skinny. & Yes, if fat people DID work hard, then YES they can achieve that greatness.
3. It is a commercial. It is marketing. DUH. Obviously they don't have the time to show the entire "journey" it would take to start running.
4. Now this person is just reaching to try to be offended.
5. Yes, encouraging young overweight kids to move and get active is obviously the wrong way to go.
Yes, the food is a huge part of it. But not all of it. Laziness is also a huge part of America's kids being overweight today.0 -
i loved that commercial...When I saw it it brought up a lot of emotion in me. That was me!! I haven't read the article yet Ill go read it0

Since my work won't let me onto any site called Jezebel...lol I read it here

Seems to me like this add might spark some controversy, but really in this day and age what doesnt....
I think this add has motivated the boy and his family to hit the gym. Maybe some others will find it motivating as well. All in all I believe the news reporter for Jezebel a little too harsh. Not the best add ever but one many ppl will identify with.0 -
what I find most disappointing is that Nike is a fake....could they seriously not find a fat kid who had just started running. Im sure someone somewhere has an inspiration story about just starting running.0

Hey Nike, you want to film a fat guy running? First make your damn shoes in 4E width so I can use them.
In the mean time, Asics? Feel free to call.0 -
I love the ad. I think it's the best out of all the "find your greatness" ads.
The author of the article HAS to be fat or incredibly unhealthy. That's the only excuse I can think of for why he hates the ad so damn much. He needs to hop down off of his tool soapbox, stat.0
