how much salt is too much salt?

whenever i make my garlic chicken, i tend to simply put garlic powder, pepper, and salt on it. otherwise, it just seems to taste way too bland for me.
however, am i being completely irresponsible by putting salt on it? or is a little bit for flavor no big deal?

as long as you're not loading it with salt (make sure to measure) and aren't taking in a lot of it during the day then you'll be fine! Just don't make it a habit of putting it on your meal every day...0

otherwise, the salt shaker doesn't exist in any of my meals (as an extra)0 -

Most of the "salt overage" people get is from prepared foods -- a can of soup usually has about 10 teaspoons worth of sodium. I doubt you are using that much to season a whole bird.0 -

if i had to guess, i probably only use about 1.5-2 teaspoons for 5 lbs of chicken.0 -

Some info if you want it.0 -
I've been working with a nutritionist and she told me to stay 1500mg/day or below. Maybe that's just for me though, but processed foods/canned foods usually have a lot of salt.0

Depends on how much you sweat. If you work out hard or live in a hot climate where you're sweating all the time, you need more salt than someone who doesn't.0
