Losing 2 lbs a week/small amount of weight left to lose

Why can't you lose 2 lbs a week if you have a small amount of weight left to lose? Is it possible at all to lose 2 lbs a week when you have 10 - 15 lbs left to lose?

When you are pretty close to your goal-/ideal-weight your calorie limit is already pretty low. So by setting up a 2-pound-loss a week you restrict a lot of calories from your body and might not get the necessary nutrients.

Also: The closer you get to your goal the closer you want your calories to be to maintenance level. Otherwise it could be that you go into maintenance mode and gain weight back because your body is used to get a lot less calories and your metabolism has already slowed down.

Pretty much what others said, If you re-calculate your BMR every like like 5-10 pounds you lose you see the numbers go down. The only thing you could really do is exercise more often I think but keeping your calories at a good amount. But I talked to me nutritionist and she said that when you are ready to go to maintenance that even when bumping your calories up, you'll only see a gain for the first few days because you're body gets bloated. But that wont stay there forever.
  • i dont know i havent lost anything in like 2 weeks. i keep gaining and losing the same 2 pounds.
i have like 8 pounds to go. i will not lower calories anymore. and i might have laxed these past few days.
