Hi everyone. I'm new here and going to give it a go at trying to lose weight and get in shape. I've started to have some stomach and sleeping problems and I've been working with a couple of doctors to get it squared away, but the more I head down this road the more we are realizing that stress from work and home have quite a bit to do with my problems. With that being said I believe that the prescriptions that I'm being prescribed are not the answer, losing weight and getting more fit are. So here I am. Glad to be aboard.

Welcome. I just joined a little over a month ago, so I'm still kinda new. I'm a teacher with summer's off so I'm trying to establish some good exercise habits now before I return to work. During the school year, I'm usually a bit of a mess--juggling teaching high school students in Baltimore, staying after to help students, pick up my twin daughters from school, go home, cook, grade papers, and get ready for bed before my husband barely gets a "hello." I used to be tired all the time, and this last month or so of holding myself accountable with the app (and accessing from my laptop), I feel more empowered and energized--not to mention I've lost just over 7 pounds. This makes my husband happy, my daughters thrilled, and hopefully I'll be a happier teacher now too. I hope you find as much joy in your experience.
My advice (totally unsolicited, I know)--plan your meals the night before if you can, but if you eat more than you planned just throw in a few minutes of walking; if at first you start feeling guilty, just aim for your weekly goals so the couple days you slip don't feel so bad; find someone who understands to celebrate your success! Best wishes!0 -
Welcome!!
ive been on this site since March.. and i have to say this is a great site, its taken me about 12 years to come across something that helps. nutritionist and this site and ive lost 20lbs since i started. there are alot of people who help to motiviate, give suggestions.. support is great. Just remember we all have good and bad days. but we can always start again and try to get to those good days... dont punish urself or get upset over a mess up.. its not permanent.. at first the weight doesnt always look like its coming off on the scale.. so dont get discouraged.. u will see a difference in clothes first then the scale and if you ever need suggestions just ask.. we are all here to help : ) Good luck!!!0
