And why don't you need the fat? Actually, I'm recovering from the very 1990's idea that I'm not supposed to eat food with fat in it. I regularly don't have enough fat in my little pie chart at the end of the day. Stay within your calorie goals and eat more healthy fats: nuts, a little olive oil on roasted veggies, cheese.

Avocados. Almonds. Whole milk if you do dairy. Sweet potatoes. Good quality meats if you eat them. Eggs.

Look for things that are nutrient dense with healthy fats, rather than loaded with sugars.

avocado with lemon juice and olive oil, nuts, home made popcorn drizzled with sunflower oil and sea salt, Greek yogurt with banana's and raisins, Turkey slices
  • Some ideas: homemade whole wheat bread, natural peanut butter, almond butter, avocado, nuts and seeds, trail mix, rice, quinoa, etc.! Some of these are high in fat but as long as you don't eat too much, they'll still give you a healthy calorie boost as well as being super healthy fats in your diet.

Thanks for the suggestions. I am doing the vegan eating right now, but I do plan to go back to animal protein shortly. I just need to slowly reintroduce it.
