so... I am new to Zumba and might I say it is a blast!! How can one correctly calculate calories? Would it be like "aerobics" ? Does someone know a calculation I can use?
Thanks

Since there are no weights involved and only dance type moves, it is basically aerobics. I have taken this class and for me it was high impact (meaning both feet leave the floor at the same time). Some people in the class were more low-impact (one foot on the floor at any given time). Hope this helps. Have fun by the way!0

I go to zumba twice a week, it can burn 500 - 1000 cal (based on my weight anyhow) in the hour depending on the intensity and what you're putting into it... if you're not putting as much into it then your not going to get as much out.... [like me tomorrow if i make it after being so achey and yucky all weekend lol]
aerobics general in the database is a pretty close estimation of burn )
but as always HRM is always your best bet to know what your burning a bit closer.
have fun!!!:flowerforyou:0
