stepping out of my comfort zone

Hi everyone,
I have been a mfp fan/user for 6 months. I am 55 years old and need to lose 12 lbs. That may not seem like a lot to many of you but it is if you are 5'2" and over 50! I am a small framed person (size 5.5 shoe, etc.) and 12 lbs is a lot of extra weight on me. I find losing one pound is an extreme effort.
I am never one to venture out into groups. I just feel so vulnerable having my info out there! BUT, I find I really need some "pals" to chat with to keep me motivated. Any other 50+ women willing to connect with me on a weekly basis? Under 50 is ok too of course! I am so new at this, so please excuse any faux pas.
