Ferris Bueller, Breakfast Club, all the Molly Ringwald movies, Princess Bride, Dirty Dancing!!!

I love reading these...I can't believe I forgot Top Gun. KI watched that movie hundreds of times in HS. And the first movie I ever remember watching was ET when I was 5 or 6. I could still watch that now...can't wait to show it to my kids!

Absolute fave is Say, Anything. And I think this was 90's, but Don't Tell Mom, The Babysitter's Dead is one of my faves.

Too many movies to list. If you had to pin me down I would say Star Wars Episode V - Empire Strikes Back. It eeks in as it came out in 1980 and was the best of the three original Star Wars.

Here are some other 80's movies that are often forgotten:
    The Gods Must Be Crazy
    Running Scared
White Nights (I am no fan of dance, but Gregory Hines was good and was underrated as an actor)
Dead Poets Society (Look back at that cast and see who went on to some nice careers)
Against All Odds (Typical 80's sexy movie)
    Beverly Hills Cop
    Fatal Attraction
    The Natural
    Full Metal Jacket
    Airplane
    Christmas Story
    The Right Stuff
    Raiders of the Lost Ark
    Bull Durham
    Field of Dreams
    Hooisers
    Untouchables

I could go on and on....

    Stand By Me

This! I gave her my heart and she gave me a pen!

That quote would be from Say Anything...

I can't believe I forgot to add these:

    - Willow "Your mother was a lizard!" (When I was younger I thought that Sorsha was the most beautiful person that ever existed and I was going to name my first daughter after her.)

    - The Neverending Story. I still cry like a baby when the horse dies in the swamp. I actually grew up thinking that Atreyu was a girl. Didn't realize it was a boy until like the mid-90's. Oops!

Oh crap, I knew that.. That's probably why I should MFP while at work. Say Anything is my favorite, Stand By Me would also be in my top 5 from the 80s.

I'm shocked no one mentioned Risky Business.

Also, am I the only one that loved that stupid movie One Crazy Summer?

I love so many of them but the soundtracks were great too.

The theme song to "Mannequin" is great ("Nothing's Gonna' Stop Us Now" by Starship). I still listen to it today and exercise to it along with other great 80's tunes.

In fact, that is included in my 80's Movies Soundtracks article and you can even play a clip of it here:

    http://hookedonmovies.net/movie-soundtracks-from-the-80s/

It appears that the Flash player is no longer working in the current version of Firefox and probably not in Apple devices. I'll need to fix that.

But you can still enjoy a flashback to the 80's greatness by scrolling the page.

Thanks for the link! Great memories!
