easy ham dish/soup
My mother in law taught me this one camping. It is an easy and quick meal in one pot.
1 ham steak*
1 can cut green beans (don't use french cut )*
1 can sliced new potatos*
1 quart chicken broth*
drain the beans and the potatos, cut up the ham steak and throw it all in a pot with the chicken broth to heat everything up.
If you have the time you can start with whole potatoes, cut them up and cook them. When you do that you don't need the chicken broth. Just use the water you cooked the potatos in.
My sister in law adds in beans and onions to turn it into a quick ham soup. We usually just serve it with fresh rolls or bread.
*I checked the calories making with the canned veggies and chicken broth and it came out to 209 calories per serving for 4 servings.
