Popcorn, ice cream and wine... oh my...

OK, so my re-commitment sorta fizzled out. I'm trying AGAIN, after missing about a week. *sigh*

Here is my situation:
My boyfriend LOVES to snack at night while we watch TV. I never had this problem before, or somehow I managed it better... I just don't remember having this struggle with any previous relationship.
First of all, if I was in charge of grocery shopping, I would not buy snack food at all. I went years and years and years without buying it. It's automatic now, I don't even see those aisles in the store.
But he likes to do the shopping, and shopping is one of my least favorite chores, so there is no conflict there. BUT, he buys lots of snacks. He knows how much I love ice cream and buys my favorite flavors. He buys popcorn, and almost every night, he brings popcorn to bed (which is where we watch TV), and many times he will bring me my ice cream and a spoon. It just melts my heart, I love him soooooooo much for being so thoughtful, (and so many other reasons!) and I know he is not intentionally trying to sabotage me, but I cannot resist!

So, it makes it extra hard for me to keep my food diary. I am embarrassed by how much junk I eat almost daily. And the wine is not his fault at all, I'm the one that goes out & buys wine & drinks the whole damn bottle. :-\

What's a girl to do? I am doing OK so far, not gaining back much if anything, because I do exercise. But I will never be trim and lean if I do not get a handle on the snacks. :(

I guess it's time to have a heart to heart talk with him. Maybe he thinks that because he doesn't see me getting bigger, and I'm exercising, it doesn't matter. He's got amazing metabolism. He doesn't gain at all & still looks lean, with no exercise!

I can totally relate! My husband is wonderful and used to do the same. I had to tell him how hard it is for me to resist and that not only not to eat ice cream in front of me but not to buy it and not to LET me eat it. I am finally at a place where I can resist the ice cream but the wine is a whole other story. I try to at least save up the calories for the nights I know I will have some wine. I started biking now too and maybe that will help earn some calories for nights that I decide I need to indulge.

Yeah, if I can make it through at least a few nights a week, that would be a start!
