ididn'trealizeipostedthisinthewrongplace (CHALLENGE)

I'm such a newbie. :noway: :grumble:

I'm trying to lose sixteen pounds which I have no deadline to as I'm really not in a huge rush. I prefer to take things slow and naturally where it's possible.

Last night, I thought maybe I could do a challenge where I would lose ten pounds in five weeks. I'm currently doing P90x and am on week two with my Mom. We're not following the meal plan they set out for us but we're still eating as healthy as possible - we still have more people in our house that isn't even trying to eat healthier so Mom still gets what she normally would but still makes sure that we both have enough healthy things to eat throughout the week.

I'm still working on the whole drinking water thing... Currently, I'm drinking a 64 oz cup of water and I have drank half of it!

I'm still trying to go to bed early especially since I don't want to end up eating even though whatever I'd eat would be healthy. I always end up going to bed after twelve (two to four-ish) as I can't fall asleep until after! Still, I don't wake up until eleven or twelve. Yup... My sleeping pattern is WAY out of where it should be.

May I also add that I easily get hungry again? For example, I'll eat dinner at my Grandma's house but then like thirty minutes later, I'm starting to get hungry again. I haven't exactly experienced this since I started trying to lose weight two weeks ago but I'm worried that it'll happen. I'm worried that it may get out of control if that makes any sense.

So, my question is to you - should I add something or maybe change something in order for me to be able to lose a healthy weight of ten pounds in five weeks? I've also always been very active so I wonder if it would change things a bit...

Honestly, losing 10 lbs of fat in 5 weeks, when you only have 16 lbs to lose overall is not a very realistic goal. When people talk about "2 lbs a week" being a healthy rate of weight loss, that's generally more appropriate for someone with a lot more to lose than you. I think you're more on the right track with not having a deadline and taking it steady.

It's hard to give any more specific advice without knowing exactly what/how much you're eating and exercising, but definitely eating more healthy foods and being active are going to help. I've not tried P90x, but heard good things about it, so good luck!
  • I don't know. I just want to drop some pounds but since you said that it's not very realistic with how much I want to lose, I'll lower it down to five pounds?
