I want to buy a Pedometer !! need help selecting it

I want to buy a Pedometer to track my calories burn and all that stuffs, but am not sure which one is a good brand, or what options should i be really concern to be a must have on the Pedometer that I will select.. please give me all your advise or any information that you know, even if you think is nonless.... thanks

    I've never used one but my boyfriends parents both have fitbits and they love them...little pricey but they think its worth it- especially the new one with the altimeter.
