The negative comment

I expected it, I really did. I have lost 46 lbs this year, but I am down 60lbs on my heaviest of 231lbs at 5'7"
The majority of the people who have commented on my weight loss have been overwhelmingly positive. I never sought those comments, in fact, I have been embarrased more than anything. Still the fat guy mentality, taking a positive comment is still difficult for me to do.
I am not done by a long way. I have 21% bodyfat and still have about 20lbs to lose.
However, one person said this to me, 'I don't think you're built to be slim.' I don't know what it is, whether it be the source of the comment (someone I consider to be a close friend) or the sheer unbelievability of the comment (like I say, I have a fair bit still to lose).
I expected the comment eventually, but not from the direction it came from.
So has anyone had any negative reactions to their weight loss? Are we just psychologically built to tear down someones success?

No, but I do think we are built to have our mouth in motion before our mind is in gear.
People say stupid stuff all the time. I'm sure that person would gladly apologize if they thought/knew that it really hurt you. Blow it off, forgive. I know I say stupid stuff all the time. I'm sure you've done it, too.0 -
I don't even know what "I don't think you're built to be slim" is supposed to mean?!? what a stupid thing to say  and how rude... your going to have to ignore that one and focus on all the positive comments. everyone is built to be slim and healthy with no exception and their just going to have to get used to the new you. Well done for all your achievements and good luck with the last 20lbs :drinker:0
