80 lbs Down and Counting

I've always been over weight. Until three years ago there was not a year of my life that I didn't gain weight. Although I was never happy with my appearance, I ignored the problem, brushing it off with the belief that I couldn't lose weight or that I was just meant to be fat. In 2009 I reached 265 lbs and it was the fear of reaching 300 lbs that pushed me to action. In 2010 I began walking everywhere: to work, the grocery store, and finally the gym. I've lost 80 lbs so far, but I wont be happy until I've lost 100 lbs. I've been stuck between 185 and 176 for a while now. Tips, support, friends, etc. are all welcome.

Amanda

Well, the good part is you are 80% into your goal. That's wonderful.

Can you share your diet plan? It would help to look at your nutrition, etc... Many people responded to my requests and made some great suggestions. So, don't get too discouraged about "being stuck" Soon you will do few adjustments and will be on your way to success!!

Congrats on your progress so far.

you already lost 80- so the next 20 should be a breeze! try changing your diet up if you feel like you're at a plateau.

    Thank you!

I don't really have much of a diet plan. I've never really been great at eating healthy. I love food too much to really give things up. I mostly think my plan would involve not stocking my kitchen with junk food. If I don't have it available I can't snack on it. I tend to go for convenient foods, so it's really important for the convenient foods to also be healthy options.

Hello and welcome here. You can do anything you put your mind too. I hope you have a great day and feel free to add me if you wish.
  • Congratulations on your weight loss. You mention not eating healthy. Try finding one unhealthy food choice and eliminating it for a while and see how you do. Good Luck.

    Thank you, Ivan!

Kim, I think I'll start with chips and soda.
