I love the new group on MFP the "Baby Boomers" - lets hope they are all healthy and happy with no complaining...Let's face it:
1: They have pushed up house prices (real estate) so much that no younger generation can afford to buy
2: They are all retired early on full pensions --- Hmm are we gonna get a pension? Errr No!
3: They have used more of the earth's resources than any other generation before them.
4: They invented foods which are killing the next generation!
I know there is more but better stop there!
Ok, rant over....let the tirade begin.......Bring it on!!!

Just to clarify,
I am a Baby Boomer, born at the end of the boom in 1960
I do not have a pension
I am not retired
I sincerely hope there is something left of Social Security after all the contributions I've made working the last 36 years and never taken a payment from the government, except when they give back a small portion of the taxes I've overpaid throughout the year (allowing them to use the money interest-free)
I signed up for my house 21 years ago and agreed to repay the 100k mortgage. I only have 3 more payments due to adding xtra principal payments over the years. I have nothing to do with the housing market increase or collapse.
I didn't invent any foods, but unfortunately I've consumed way too many of them in the past. Now that I'm here that is changing.
Maybe I'm using more resources, but then again, aren't we all???
As a side note, I ran my own successful business for several years and probably contributed more in taxes than the average taxpayer, in addition to creating and providing jobs for several people. You're welcome.0 -
