Calorie intake question?

If I want to lose weight using calories and exercise, should I be eating 1200 and exercising, or say.. I eat 1500 calories and exercise and that exercise burns 300 calories. But by the end of the day I still have 1200 calories, is that how it works?
Because I tried 1200 and exercise and I lost weight but gained it back quite fast.

  • It depends on how fast you want to get the weight off, as long as you eat less than you are burning a day so less than you AMR or BMR then you will lose weight.

If you have 1200 calories to use in one day, including your fruit and veg, protein and don't overdo the carbs, you do not add calories to include what exercise you may do!

You have your 1200 calories, you then exercise and burn off say 300 calories. You do not need to eat the whole 300 calories, but the idea is you can go and treat yourself after having burned off so many. If I had burned off 300 calories, I would probably have a treat for half or two thirds that amount.

    Hope this helps!
