1500 calorie menu

Does anyone have a menu they follow? I think I need something that tells me what to eat during the day. Thanks!

I have collected ideas from various fitness magazines that have meal ideas. Search the web for them as well.
Here is a sample from Jillian Michaels site.

You can sign up on her site for free 30 day trial and it includes meal plans.

Self.com is for a magazine having a fitness challenge starting Aug 14, it usually has meal plans for the people who sign up. Glamour magazine and Shape probably have these things as well.
Women's World magazine has sample meal plans each issue for whatever fad diet they are promoting. Some are pretty good, others not so much.

I am getting into "Mastering Your Metabolism" by Jillian Michaels. I makes SO much sense! She wrote the main book with some meal suggestions and lays out the what, how, and why's.... then she also has a cookbook by the same name that is full of menus and recipes. I think it is the perfect companion to MFP.

I have been convinced that I struggle with weightloss due to my horrid metabolism and I think this method just might be the answer for me. I checked both books out from my library, but will need to buy them soon - they are packed with info.

Feel free to friend me if you want to check in with how it's working over time. Stay Strong!
  • I'm bumping this so that i can come back and read any ideas left on here!! THANKS!

I find checking others diary is always a good way to see what others are eating. I've been able to stay under 1400 for awhile actually closer to 1000-1200 once i subtract my worked calories. I have been steadily losing an average of 2 lbs a week

I have no "scientific" method behind my menu, but i like to think i eat reasonably healthy and i definitely stick to foods i enjoy.

My typical week day menu is as follows:

9am - i prepare my breakfast for the week on sunday evenings and i eat breakfast at work. i make either overnight oats or mini egg white and veggie omelets that i bake in muffin tins.

    10:30am - chobani yogurt

    12:00pm - 3 hardboiled egg whites

    1:00pm - lunch:
4 oz grilled chicken breast (i use either fat free italian dressing, fat free poppyseed dressing, or Lawrys marinades. My favorites are the steak and chops marinade, lemon pepper, or sesame ginger)
sauteed brussel sprouts (brussel sprouts with fresh black pepper, lemon herb seasoning, and a tonnnn of fresh chopped garlic), and roasted broccoli (roast broccoli, garlic, and a sprinkle of grated Parmesan cheese)

3:00 - protein shake or 3 more hardboiled egg whites

somewhere around 6:30 - 8:00 - dinner: sometimes i have the same thing as lunch, turkey/veggie burgers with a sweet potato, or shirataki tofu noodles with tomato sauce, vegetables, and morningstar meatless crumbles.

this usually gets me to about 1200 calories. some days i land around 1050 and other days i land at 1350...
