Can someone help a mathematically challenged MFP'er?

I had 1/4 teaspoon of a salad dressing that has 40 calories per TABLESPOON. What percentage of a tablespoon did I have? For example, if I had had 1 teaspoon, I would have put .33 or .34. Assuming that's right (which I'm not totally confident about), should I put .085 of a tablespoon?
Thanks...
Thanks...

.25 = 1/4 You had .25 of 1 tablespoon. 1/4 = 25 of 100
So think of your tablespoon as 100, a whole.0 -

Your math is right. How did you manage to use such a teensy amount of dressing though? Haha. I feel like I wouldn't even be able to taste that.0 -
1/12 or .083T
Though I don't know if I'd bother to log those 3.33 calories. You'll probably burn more than that typing it in. ;-)0 -
According to Google 1 teaspoon equals .33 Tablespoons.
So 3 teaspoons equals 1 tablespoon...........
So if you only have a teaspoon, but the recipe calls for tablespoons, use "3x" what it says.0 -
.25 US tsp = 0.083333331US tblsp
There are lots of conversion tools online. I used this one :http://www.metric-conversions.org0 -
3 x teaspoon = 1 tablespoon
so 4 (quarters) x 3 (teaspoons) = 1 tablespoon
12 units = 1 tablespoon
so you need 1 x 12th of 1 - i would say 0.1 as that is 1 x 10th0 -
You are correct. A teaspoon is 1/3 of a tablespoon.
0.33 x 0.25 = 0.08250 -
1/12 or .083T
This is correct.0 -
There are 3 teaspoons in one Tablespoon, so you had 1/12th of a Tablespoon or .0833333 of a Tablespoon.
Gosh, that's not very much salad dressing :-D0 -
Thank you, everyone! I really appreciate the quick response.
Peachyxoxoxo, I was only putting it on two pieces of hearts of palm.0 -
The replies would indicate that only 2 out of every 3 respondents read the question correctly. :happy:0

Another way to look at it is, you had 1/4 of 1/3 of a tablespoon. In math, "of" means times. So 1/4 x 1/3 is 1/12 of a tablespoon. To change the fraction 1/12 to a decimal number, divide 12 into 1, and you have 0.83!0

Did you actually just call it a "US" tsp and "US" Tbls?!?!?0
