The Perfect Blend? Thoughts...

Per an article published in the summer 2012 edition of Physique 3D magazine, written by Marie Spano, MS, RD, CSCS, CSSD, titled, "Power Trio", a study conducted on 19 'young, fit, adult participants', showed a blend of casein, whey, and soy protein provided the greatest anabolic window for muscle growth as compared to ingesting soy/whey or soy/casein blends alone. The rationale for these findings is based on the rate at which the body processes the three different proteins.

To quote Spano, "this combination [of proteins] is ideal because whey is a fast-digesting protein whereas soy is intermediate and casein is digested at a much slower rate, requiring several hours. The rate of digestion is essential because it influences the rate of amino-acid release into the bloodstream. So if whey results in a rapid release of amino acids, soy takes a little longer, and casein takes even more time, the combination of these three proteins results in an extended release of amino-acid delivery to your muscles, which is ideal for growth."

So... what are your thoughts? Do you think we'll see sports nutrition companies begin to follow such a study and provide this unique and allegedly ideal blend in a blender-bottle ready formula? Let the broscience begin....

It'd be a great thing to see developed. But I'm definitely wary because the super-trio formula would probably be priced way out of my meager budget. Though, the slower digesting proteins in combination with the faster digesting ones, isn't that the way that we should stack our meals anyway? To try to avoid having too many fast-digesting elements in order to stay satisfied for longer.
