Little back story-
I use to run track in HS. Well that was about 10 years ago. I started the C25K program at the beginning of the year with a friend. I finished that in April and did my first 5K. In the middle of this I moved across the world. I had problems after the move getting back into a routine and gaining on that 3 miles. Well, I've told myself no matter what I need to find time.
Today, for the first time in weeks I had a chance to go the gym. (I run outside and on the treadmill depending on schedule/weather/etc.)
I got a new PB of 5 miles. I know there are lots out there that can run marathons and such, but I'm thrilled with my 5 miles. Someday I'll run a marathon, but today... I ran 5 miles! Afterwards I got in my lifting time too.
C25K was felt wonderful, but pushing farther than that is felt even better.

I'm so happy for you and I'm glad you suggested we do C25K together earlier this year. While it's taken me longer to finish it than you (curse you unexplained knee injury!) I know I'm on my final week now and then I'm off to building up speed and being able to maintain it over time. One of these days we'll run in some sort of race together too.0 -
Congratulations! That is awesome!
My DD is a year older than you and has been training for 2 years to run the Twin Cities marathon coming up in October. She has ran quite a few 1/2 marathons this year ( the latest one was last Saturday ). She is building up to the 26 mile race now and ran 15 miles training for it this morning.
You can do it too!
Good Luck to you!0
