One week, one pound….it’s a start. I used to lead a fairly active life style. However, spending the last 13 years as a Project Manager for a software company, traveling to various client locations, sitting in endless, mind-numbing meetings, and staring at a computer screen, I find myself just a little out of shape, and somewhat over weight. That is coming to a screeching halt now.

I plan to retire in a year or so, and mean to be in shape when that time comes. I plan to thru-hike the Appalachian Trail. That means I need to be in shape and ready. So, now is the time.

I have energized my physical fitness program, with walking, hiking, and running. Need to get to my fitness level and activity level.
Anyone out there who would like to link up as a friend, talk about the out of doors, hiking, trekking and such, please let me know. Share ideas and pass along some encouragement, I will do the same.
Just completed my first week and have another 52 weeks to go.
Thanks,

I love to be outside in nature unfortunately this summer has been record highs for humidity and heat here in FL(as well as most of the US) and Ive stayed in the A/C. My boyfriend and I will be heading to the smokies in March for spring break and I absolutely cannot wait to hit the trails there! But I'm with you, I have to get my fitness level back up before I do that or I'll die(probably not but I'll feel like it lol)
