Honestly, for the bulk of the population, it doesn't much matter unless you have a medical condition that means you need to limit intake. We lose 90 percent of excess sodium through urination. So drink, drink, drink. It'll flush. Work out ... up to two percent lost through sweat.

A good start is to cut out processed foods. Very high in sodium. Then your night out sodium will even out better in the week.

No canned, no boxed, no just-add-water, no just-add-milk, no just-add-margarine, no partially hydrogenated, no hydrogentated..

Basically if it sits on the shelf for umpteen years without going bad, dont eat it.

Sodium that is found naturally occuring in real fruits, vegetables and meats is what you really should be focusing on... Cook from scratch, never from a box or can, and you will do well.

You can help the process out by consuming more potassium, too.

Exactly. Keep your potassium and sodium as close to 1:1 as possible, and you're golden.
