I'm not sure where to put this but knowing it's definite exercise, not my reasons for wanting to do it. Just wondering if anyone on MFP has done it. It's on my Bucket List and yes I'm only 24 but I want to live life to my fullest. I think it would be a beautiful thing. I'm thinking when my kids are much older doing it together as a family.

I walked the Camino de Santiago last year. On average, most people walk 6 to 10 hours, though we had a few days of more than 12 hrs.I am glad to hear that loosing weight is not one of the reasons you chose to walk the Camino. With all the food available, I only lost 4 lbs; whereas my husband lost 13.
If you are thinking of walking with children, check out this forum on Bringing a Child on the Camino. http://www.caminodesantiago.me/board/frequently-asked-questions/topic5749.html?sid=ff1813cf9845096f0d107b839124883a#p103296
I believe this Camino de Santiago de Compostela Forum may answer many of your questions. If not, feel free to contact me directly.

How far did you walk? I wouldn't take my kids until at least teenagers so they can truly appreciate it. I watched the movie "The Way" and it touched me as I too lost a son. One reason I wouldn't do it for exercise is because I know the day I walk it I'll be in better shape. Congrats on the walk.0
