Feeling really low today re loose skin :-(

Hello fitness folk
I am feeling really down today. I am happy I have lost 100lbs but now I have lots of loose skin. I will never be able to afford cosmetic surgery and no matter what training I do it will never go. It's loose on my triceps, stomach and inner thigh. Not to mention my boobs have totally gone leaving a saggy mess. If I could remove this skin I think I would lose another 14lbs at least. Apologies for venting on here but just needed someone to talk to. :-)

well you are not the only one.. im down over 120 and i gotta large scrotem sack on my tummy if that makes you feel better.
sux but not much can be done about it.
just have to think where you were and what youve done and how you are now goin to really benefit from being healthy which obviously is the most important.0 -
Thanks for the replies. I have decided to concentrate on gaining muscle. It is something I have always wanted. It is quite scary going into a bulk phase but I will do it slowly and see how I get on.0

I know so well how you're feeling! Just keep remembering how good you feel and how much healthier you are!!!! There have been times when I think why, Why have I worked this hard only to be left with this! Then I remember how I couldn't walk flights of stairs or keep up to my grands and I know it is all worthwhile! You really do look great and really should be so proud of yourself, so just take a little time to let yourself feel how your feeling and then you can get on with it!0

and don't be afraid of gaining a little muscle! You'd be surprised at even how much better you can feel and how much easier it is to keep your weight in control with a little more muscle.0

Yeah it's a very hard thing to go through, my dr keeps telling me to give it at least 2 years... That it takes a while for it to go back as much as it will... I can jump off a building and probably do a glide to safety with my chicken wings.. lol... If it causes you pain like back problems hint hint, insurance company's can pay for skin removal surgeries....0

I have found that it does reduce over time, I am into my 4 phase of weight loss, each time it has got flappy but over a year or 2 it reduces. never taught or smooth but less of it.0

Thats EXACTLY HOW I FEEL...I have lost 42 lbs. and I am so ashamed for my husband to see them. I got fitted for a better bra size, but it is what it is.....:(
Thank you for reading my mind today!0 -

I would try Body Wraps by It Works Distributing...I have done 3 wraps a couple months ago and lost about 5 inches through out my stomach area...I have 4 more wraps I'm going to do when I lose up to 25 pounds so i have 4 more pounds I want to lose before I do some more wraps....The lady I go through is Cindy Voorhies, she's awsome!! Im not forcing anyone to purchase something they dont feel comfortable doing, I would recommend googling and youtubeing the product first....let me know how things turn out!!!

Cheers. I am already in phase 4 of new rules of lifting. So I will complete this but use the slow bulking method of lean gains instead of weight loss or a month or so and see if I feel better. I would prefer bigger arms with muscle on than this creased saggy skin. At least I can cover my stomach and boobs up. But I fancy more muscle definition in my back and arms especially.
After new rules I think I will go to starting strength. I like the big lifts like squats and Deadlifts.0 -
I don't think it is hopeless.
Give it time part of your skin will bounce back.....help by dry brushing your skin daily.....use a great moisturizer like CeRave (Walgreens) right out of the bath/shower. all of this will help your skin bounce back. I'd also drink green smoothies packed with vitamins and attack the problem from within as well.0 -
I cant tell you anything to fix it...because there isnt much. Toning and strength training will help, but only so much. I can, however, completely empathize and tell you that you are not alone. I am sagging in places a girl just shouldnt sag! I just have to keep reminding myself that I feel better than I have in years, my heart rate and blood pressure are completely normal, my blood sugar is in fabulous control and I am still losing! Just keep thinking of all the positives and remember...Spanx and good bras are your friends!0

Morning.
Well I feel a little better about things this morning. I have been thinking and technically because I have approximately 10lbs of loose skin, although i weigh 132lbs, I actually have the body of someone who weighs 122lbs. Well that's what I look like with clothes on anyway. :-)
So I have decided to stick with leangains but do a recomp and hopefully swap a bit of the fat that's left with muscle. That way I can try to fill the saggy skin on my arms a bit. Will see how it goes.0
