bad bad bad.
Unless you are doing it because you cannot have the sugars it's probably better to get the real thing.
I had the coke, no caffine one and it taste like the real thing.
Diets make my stomach hurt.0 -
tons of stuff on the site out there! just type in on the search bar "diet coke" and you will find lots of stuff about it:happy:0

Fake sugar has gotten a lot of bad speculation. It scares me, because I don't think it's good for you. I'd rather have some of the real stuff now and then, but I've become addicted to vitamin water. I have a hard time drinking enough plain water, and If your active the 125 calories is nothing to work off. It's actually better than coke as far as calories go.0

I think there are many opinions. Yes...facts can prove that it isn't very good for you. But...I love diet Coke and I have at least one a day...many times more. I've quit smoking, I've quit tanning, I've quit speeding...yada...yada...diet Coke is my one thing left and I refuse to quit it too! So...I will take the other side and say to go ahead! Enjoy that nice refreshing glass of diet coke if you want it!!!:drinker:

something i saw, drinking a coke a day leads to 50 pounds of sugar. Or something like that. It was on a Biggest Loser. I wish I had kept that one to refer back to it.0

Well as a former diet soda person I can say that Diet soda does not have ANY nutritional value.
IN FACT:
The fake sweetener combines with the caffine in diet sodas have been proven to:
YES I SAID PROVEN
Cause head aches.
Make people more fat. (see below for why this might be.)
Slow down metabolism to a crawl or complete standstill.
Increase appetite,
Premature arthritis,
Heart palpitations,
Stomach ulcers,
Memory loss,
And my FAVORITE!
Incontinence.
If you REALLY want to be grossed out, GOGGLE how fake sugar is made.
Or better yet, How or should I say WHERE the scientest discovered the sweet flavor in the first place.
Drink water, and try to cut back on all sodas.
BTW the Biggest loser site MIGHT have the amount of sugar in sodas...But I do not know. All I remember is seeing the HUGE pile of cans that equaled what they all drank in one year.

You have hit a nerve:noway: these are things my dad has been trying to tell me, because I have practically lived on diet pepsiCan't stand the taste of water, but have switched to Green Tea but have been adding splenda........So I don't know if I am improving my situation or not? Do you think Splenda is just as bad?:glasses:0

The evidence concerning diet drinks and sugars are still inconclusive. However, anything with caffeine dehydrates you ... so you can't count it as a water source. In fact, you would need to drink water just zero-out having consumed a diet drink, tea or coffee.0
-
Also, the only reason why diet drinks have been considered to make people gain weight is NOT because it slows the metabolism (caffeine speeds the metabolism to an extent, not significantly) but rather, because your body recognizes that you are consuming food ... however, there is no calories or nutrients in such diet drinks ... so your body begins to send signals that it is hungry bc it is expecting the calories from what it is consuming ... this may make a person eat when they shouldnt be hungry.0
